Protecting Yourself From Hijacked Data

The news stories seem incredible. The personal information of thousands of Canadian bank customers is erroneously faxed to a US company over a three year period; hackers break into the secure data base of a major US retail company hijacking the personal information of millions of Canadians; a backup hard drive containing the personal information and financial records of hundreds of thousands of Canadian investors is lost in transit.
